Write Down Your “Why’s”
Today is an important day for you and these past few days have been filled with so much that they have probably been a little bit emotional for you. Trust and understand this, these things shall pass. You are going to get to where you want to be in your life but today, today is important because you are going to write down your “why’s”
What does that mean? That means that today, you are going to ask yourself why. Why do I care? Why do I try? Why do I want to change? Why do I want a better life? Why am I doing this? Why I am trying? There are so many different “why’s” that is could take us all day so let’s narrow it down to just a couple. “Why do I want a better life?” and “Why do I want to change?” you see, everyone has a different reason for their why.
This is the part of us that makes us unique and special. This is what defines us as individuals, our logic, our reasons, our motivation, our inspiration; these all come from different sources, from different places within us.
Your “why” may or may not be the same as my “why” yet, it is the answer to that question that has brought us both together on this journey. Our reasons bind us as one to achieve the hope that we are so desperately seeking.
Today, is an important day because today, you will ask yourself the hard questions, and today you will provide the answers to them as well, this journey you are about to embark upon is an exciting one. It may not always seem like it because parts of your past will try to come to steal your joy from you.
Never forget your light, never forget your motivation, never forget the answers to your “why’s” and they will carry you through the darkness and they will bring you forth into the light.
When my world seemed like it could never turn right side up again, hope was fading into this void of empty space and time, I sat down and I wrote down the reason why I could not give up. Each day I had to remind myself why I couldn’t give up because each day, I yearned to quit.
When my motivation was at its lowest I would pull out my note to myself and I would read my “why’s” and I would remind myself all over again the reasons that I keep going.
Determine today what your reasons are and write them down. Keep them in your wallet where you can look at them whenever doubt tries to settle. Arm yourself with inspiration and you will not fail.
